In July
Sparklers are bright in the midnight sky
Barbeques and picnics for the 4th of July
Parades with floats pass us by
We put on smiles and silently cry
We three who grieve in July
We know the hour, the minute,
the moment, and second our lives forever changed….
We who grieve in July
Anger pain and disbelief
Our question is…why…why..why?
Shawn was first to be called home
A military man…he helps guard God’s Throne
Along with St. Michael
He protects God’s home
Jordan and Tiff
What a happy pair!
Their musical gifts would fill the air
What a happy pair!
Their musical gifts would fill the air
God needed a composer with talent and flair.
He called on Jojo because he cared
And then there was Tiffany, boy could she she sing!
God asked her to do solos because that was her “thing”
For some unknown reason beyond our control
God called you each by name to your heavenly home
Three Mother’s who grieve each July,
happy but empty as time goes by
We wait for the day we grieve no more
Jordan Shawn and Tiffany meet us at the gate to Heaven’s door.
We love and miss you.
Today I dedicate this poem to two friends and mothers who share the heartbreak of losing a child. It is for Marlene and Regina.
